And Beyoncé has done that 3 consecutive times from 2003 and on. If you sell 3 Mil in the US and 6 Mil WW, you are doing something. Is she coming close to that now? No.īecause that’s the state of the industry. For example, you have NORAH JONES going DIAMOND in the US. I will say it over and over until peeps get it that the industry sales slump began during 2003. Beyonce always sells well but not the amount that she should be not the reason that Bey fans are counting from 2003. Example: in 04′ Usher’s album was astronomical selling an astounding 10 million in the states. She should have sold way more than what she did. Most of the people that make Beyonce’ out to be some sorta musical genius are just her hardcore fans.Īlso in 03′ album sales were still kind of high, Beyonce’ was basically the only 1 receiving so much attention then. She has good singing tecnique but her voice is just good. In terms of her solo album sales she has sold around 20 to 25 mil ww, her albums only not DC’s.īeyonce is a helluva performer, but she promoted this Dvd like it was a new album, most artists just release their Dvd, she had a premiere for it, like it was showing at the box office. Beyonce’s first album is her best selling one, which has sold about 8 to 11 mil ww. If were measuring popularity, it might be hard to determine using only 1 factor in figuring it out.Īctually Mr.sCarey is the best selling female artists.īeyonce did not outsell Britney & Xtina either. I see that Britney outsold her with this last tour, but I could compare Bey’s 5 #1’s to Britney’s 3 or her 16 grammies to the few that Britney have. So, you might want to be the last to label I’m sure both ladies could have continued to tour longer and made more pf a profit if they wanted to. It would leave me to believe that you do not follow her career. I gather this from what you’ve mentioned above when you stated that you didn’t realize how many Bey songs actually appealed to you. Bey is pretty much experimental with so many different sounds and if you don’t go to her concerts(or perhaps buy all of her music) then you would not realize what type of music she sings. Urban cross overs would be artist more like Alicia Keys(with Noone), Mary J Blige (Be without you, Family affair) and Keyshia Cole (Let it go), etc. Bey is one of a kind and until I see someone measure up to her talent, I will continue to say that noone is in her Spunkypoop, Bey is gumbo – she’s a mixture of every genre and primarily does well on pop and R&B charts. Still, I’m happy that these artist please their fanbase and all have their own lane. Same goes for Britney! I think she deserves her pop princess crown way more than Gaga. As far as I’m concerned Rihanna may be the lesser artist, but she’s 10x better music wise. I’m not a fan of hers and frankly I’m not interested in hating on her because she makes music that I am not even slightly moved by. She’s more interested in making statements and elevating her celebrity status it seems. As far as Lady Gaga is concerned I’m sure she will have a great sophmore era (most do that are really big), but she is not an artist that is here for her music. It a miracle how certain acts have managed to last (i.e., Katy Perry), I just don’t understand why anyone would want real talent to fail. She’s here to stay, but she’s 1 of the few in the industry with talent(real talent).
Wow, people have been waiting for Bey’s downfall since 2003 (and if you count DC, I’d say it started after Writing’s on the wall).
